The Table Tennis game is firstly originated as a sport in England during 1880 by the British Military Officer of India or South Africa. It was played among the upper class families as the after dinner game where dining table is considered as the table tennis table and a row of books were stood up along the center of table as a net, two or more books were used as rackets and used to hit a golf ball from one end of the table to the other. After some time this game was played using paddles made of cigar box lids and balls are made of champagne corks. After a while these rackets were made using piece of parchment stretched upon a frame that generated a sound while playing. From that time this game was known as Wiff-Waff and Ping-Pong. Day by day the popularity of this game had increased that forced manufactures to sell the equipment and accessories commercially. In 1900s, this game was banned in Russia because they believed that this game had adverse effect on player’s eye sight.
In 1901, James W Gibb discovered novelty celluloid balls and E.C. Goode invented a modern version of racket by fixing a sheet of pimpled or stippled and rubber to the wooden blade. Since then this ping-pong game is known as table tennis sport.
