On the behind of Table Tennis Table Sport a great and massive history is offered like other sports. Table Tennis is a sport played on a hard table divided by net and two or four players hit a lightweight hollow ball either back or forth using table tennis racket. It is the game considered as the biggest participation sport in the world that blends power, speed, skills and subtlety. This game is governed by the worldwide organization International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF).
The Table Tennis game is firstly originated as a sport in England during 1880 by the British Military Officer of India or South Africa. It was played among the upper class families as the after dinner game where dining table is considered as the table tennis table and a row of books were stood up along the center of table as a net, two or more books were used as rackets and used to hit a golf ball from one end of the table to the other. After some time this game was played using paddles made of cigar box lids and balls are made of champagne corks. After a while these rackets were made using piece of parchment stretched upon a frame that generated a sound while playing. From that time this game was known as Wiff-Waff and Ping-Pong. Day by day the popularity of this game had increased that forced manufactures to sell the equipment and accessories commercially. In 1900s, this game was banned in Russia because they believed that this game had adverse effect on player’s eye sight.
In 1901, James W Gibb discovered novelty celluloid balls and E.C. Goode invented a modern version of racket by fixing a sheet of pimpled or stippled and rubber to the wooden blade. Since then this ping-pong game is known as table tennis sport. The popularity of table tennis sport was growing day by day and its tournaments were organized and an unofficial championship was held in 1902. In 1921, in Britain the Table Tennis Association was founded. In 1926, the International Table Tennis Federation founded and first time the London hosted Official World Championships. In 1933, the United States Table Tennis Association was formed. In 1950s, the great spin and speed was introduced to the tt rackets as used a rubber sheet combined with an underlying sponge layer.
In 1988, the table tennis game was introduced as the Olympic Game and in 2000, it is played in Summer Olympics in Sydney. After that the International Table Tennis Federation instituted several changes to the rules and tt accessories to make this game more advanced and excited.
